Best Car Hire Agencies

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

When it comes to choosing car rental companies there are number of things that you should be aware of. It is always best to plan your trip in advance and make your investigations about rates that are charged by the different companies.

Do not be misled into thinking that an advance booking will give you discounted rates, normally this is not the case. Most car rentals have variable rates on their service depending on the time and season of the year. So at the time of your booking make sure you know which rates will apply when you pick up the car.

One thing that would really help is knowing how much you want to spend on renting the car, you should also know the places that you intend to visit. You should also know the exact dates of your trip and whether you can change them or not. Knowing all these things will help you when you are negotiating and choosing the type of car that you will use.

The best way to make a car booking would be to do it online. Most companies will offer you a discount for booking online because they save on time and money. It is possible that you might require a car with extra features find out if these are available. Extra features like storage facilities, roof racks for luggage or sports equipment.

Most agencies have a daily rate that applies for a limited number of km and charge for any km’s that are exceeded. Some will offer cover charges for rentals that are up to a week and not consider the number of km’s traveled. Some are flexible on drivers as long as you register the drivers with them others will require you to pay for the extra drivers. If you have good negotiating skills you can get a better deal than the original one, just compare the different agencies. Some of the agencies that you might want to look are:

  1. Imperial Car Rental Sandton
  2. Imperial Car Hire Johannesburg
  3. Alamo Car Rental South Africa

Searching For A New DSLR Camera

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Usually the latest in the world of digital cameras are provided by the top brands. Basically these are Olympus, Sony, Nikon and Canon. Alternatively you could opt for the latest edition among the smaller brands that will perform just as well.

Choosing a camera is really all about how much money you have, and what you want to do with your camera. The prices are almost always the same the difference being a few dollars or cents. Bearing in this mind the camera tha you choose becomes a subject of personal preference. Their performance and capabilities will in most cases be at par.

The best place to get the best deals is obviously the internet. There is always the apparent advantage of cheaper prices for anything that is ordered and bought online. The internet will also offer you flexibility and variety. It would surprise you that you might find models that are just as good as the top brands but available for much cheaper.

With the internet you are also able compare prices for the same product in different stores and places. Products often hit the market at different times in different locations. The same camera that is priced as being a new product might already be old stock in a different area. For a wide range of products and some good deals on digital cameras check out one of these: cleaning dslr sensors, cheap digital slr cameras, top dslr reviews

Through the net you are saved the hassle of having to go up and down from one shop to another checking out and comparing cameras and prices. For those who prefer testing equipment before buying it this might not be an option. the alternative is to look up shops within your area and go and check them out.

Looking For Cheap Flights

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

To make for easy reading I’ve listed the tips in point format. The tips are taken from a number of reviews I’ve written and I’ve picked the important ones.

Book in advance

The best way to find a cheap flight is by booking early. leaving your booking for the last minute will result in late bokking charges which are usually high. Booking early is always an advantage even as early as 10 weeks if possible..

Travel midweek

The best time to travel is midweek. That is, from Monday to Thursday. The rest of the times the fares are much higher. Most people tend to want to fly over the weekends making them peak periods, if you want cheap flights consider mid week flights.

Book indirect flights

One thing is certain – direct flights are pricey. This comes with the convenience of direct flying. If you are looking for the cheapest flight then do not even think about direct flights.

Travel in winter

If you’ve ever taken the time to look at airfares during different times of the year you will see that winter fares are much cheaper. This is because winter is considered off peak in South Africa i.e. midyear since we are in the Southern Hemisphere.

Travel at night

Most flights do occur during night times. However there are also day-flights, which you must avoid if you want to fly cheap. However, it is always best to compare these flights just incase there is a discount being offered by the day-flights.

All this information including up to date air fares is available at any one of these. If you can continue to surf this site to find out more information that you can use in your decision making or check out these links below:
