Nikon D90 SLR or Nikon D5000?

Many photographers find it hard to decide which DSLR to get, the first-rate Nikon D90 or the latest Nikon D5000? The former has already wowed many photographers with its superb features. But many claim the D5000 would be much better.

Here is the problem of the confused photographer: What would you do, buy the D90 now or wait until May 1 for the D5000? Read on to know what other enthusiasts say about this camera:

Cloud9: The D90 is definitely better than the D5000. You have to buy it now before the price shoots up. I am warning you, the D90 price is shooting up real fast.

hockey2009: If the D5000 sells at $800, I think that the D90 features will give you better value for your money. In addition, the D90 features the sub command dial, significant especially when you shoot manually.

Mark Shaw: The D5000 looks like an entry-level camera, but the D90 would be meant for more serious enthusiasts. The D5000 is only a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than a D90. Seems to me that the D90 is a lot more camera for a bit more $.

Skatterball: The screen alone is a major plus on the D90 (3″ 920, hi-def video). What more could you ask for?

Happypup: The Nikon D5000 is an upcoming camera, so many people are all hyped up about this baby. If you really need to get a DSLR now, then but the Nikon D90. But if you do not have to buy one now, be patient, wait for its availability, read reviews, check any problem, and decide wisely a few weeks or a month after the camera is released in the market.

Jimmyinnewyork: I bought my D90 two months ago. Reading the D5000 features, I am happy I bought the D90. I really love the commander mode, in-camera focus motor, hi-res LCD, etc.
